SD-4 Vivance
I got color advice from nnenn, and I think it probably shows.
Honestly, he pulls off this weird color combo stuff a lot better than I do.

I'm not sold, but it's nice to see your style in the colours of nnenn.

I love me some brown space. I like this departure from the norm this Novvember. Makes me want to put my big project away and crank out another Viper.

I've done these two colours before. Now you need to throw in an even more absurd third colour ;)
It's not as tightly coloured as your usual work. I think you're running into difficulty sneaking the blocks of white in there. I suspec thin stripes would work better. The shape, however, is glorious.

I agree, Tim. The white looks like... frosting, or something. And only one of these colors should be on a food with frosting.
EDIT: oh man that's right! I can't believe I forgot that! Yeah, you got the colors to work much more smoothly together than here.
You know what else I don't like? The black. I couldn't get the guns to work in white, though. It was just too much. And gray looked stupid. And so I was stuck.

Excellent. Make use of your colour blindness to go places no right-seeing person would ever go.

In response to your edit...
As far as I'm concerned your brown and sand blue are right together and I think the black is fine. And the white in the guns too. It's the tiles on the studs that throw it off. Can you try swapping out the white for dark bley? I have a suspicion it might fix things. Close to sand blue but just enough different.

I'll give it a whirl tomorrow when I'm in the basement. I see it working in my head. If it looks good, that's how I'll do the MLCAD file.

Nice. Looks like a Wookie ship. I mean the coloring. Not saying yours looks as crappy as the ships Lego made for the Wookies. :)

Cool build and great colors... The small white accents in the weapons work, but I'm with Tim on the tiles...

Great ship, especially these engine housings are excellent!
The white tiles work great in the thumbnails but I'm not sure about it on the larger image too. What about darkbley or sblue tiles and white typografic stickers?
curtydc (31 months ago | reply)
the colors do work well together. As everyone else has said, I think the white plates can go away. I think it would look fine with the studs showing, no reason to put anything else there in place of the white plates.

I just wanted to let you all know that Tim hit the nail on the head! I replaced all the white parts with dark bley and it looks much, much better. It also helps the little emblem on the wing pop out more, which gives a nice visual effect.
Thanks everyone for the comments and crits. I really do appreciate it!
