Oh my god! You'll bring some to the next meetup won't you.. please, please, please :)

No, not marzipan (although that would be a neat idea). It's...sort of a cookie, I guess? Baked, he is. Lemony on the inside. I wanted to make him with a fondant coating but fondant (and marzipan too) is too prohibitively priced for me to play with like this.

Haha, Neil, if the next batch turns out I'll see if I can transport some on Monday.

Yum, I hope they don't scream too much when you eat them.

Wonderful! I would never have the heart to eat him, though.

I love him. I am so hungry and want to eat him.
The house in "Tonari no totoro" is built at the international exhibition in Nagoya. I am looking forward to see it.

looks tasty, did he survived it? ;-)

It's adorable. What is this a prototype for?

    12. hundrednorth (88 months ago | reply)

Thanks, all. You can each have one :)

Nintoto, this is a prototype for...nothing, really. I had the idea of making one of these into totoros whilst we were baking a batch of regular cookies for a dinner thing. Ever since I made a totoro cake for a friend last year I've been hatching ideas for other edible totoros. This is just a prototype for a mighty army of perfect, edible totoros that I plan to have someday...

I was wondering about the 'prototype'... if I could buy these somewhere. You must have had some professional confectionery training? They're incredible.

      Incredible and delicious!

Glad you like 'em, everyone :)

brevity: no, I have not had professional training (hmm might not be a bad idea though). Just a few years of experimentation and hobbying :)
