Hexagon Quilt - Layout Test

June 09 - Planning for a hexagon English paper pieced quilt, all with scraps (some new from purchased scrap bags, some my own) arranged by color. Not necessarily on the diagonal, I haven't decided yet. These are 1" hexagons and, yes, it will probably take me half of my life to do. That's alright, I enjoy a long-term project. Since this photo, I've started sewing them in groups and am ready to make some more.

thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this! I'm using the same size and even some of the same fabrics! I was curious to see what mine would look like once turned into a hexagon and arranged by color. It looks fabulous!

this looks great! I am plannin on start6ing my first one soon. I've been collecting remnants for years. any pointers?

Thank you! Honestly, you really don't need pointers - even if you haven't done the paper piecing method before (which I hadn't), you'll be fine. I just did a few with some fabric I didn't really like first, just to try it out, and sewed them together. I was slow at first, but now even sewing them together goes quickly. I make a big pile of hexagons, sew 'em together, and repeat - and that's all there is to it! Good luck and make sure to share photos when you start!!!
