outside slater sub aqua supplies if i remember correctly. i like this, the corrosion has caused the material to delaminate slightly showing how it was made originally. this thing must be a couple of hundred years old at least.

Quite right. A nice old relic of Preston's marine tradition

i particularly like the markings round the holes in the top, showing that this has been made by a blacksmith in a forge, the end must have been heated, and a iron pin knocked through then slowly opened up to the right size, the laminnations show in the oxididised marks. some long dead very skillful hands toiled to make this lump of old iron. nice work, and a nice pic
