Strawberry Jam Muffin-Buns! :D

Or whatever you'd like to call them. This is the result of a fun idea my sister and I had when we had no dessert in the house. We took some frozen yeast rolls (the kind you rise for 3-5 hours and bake), thawed them part-way (about an hour) on a plate and stretched/patted them into 4x2 inch ovals.

We then spread one side of each roll lightly with strawberry jam, sprinkled them with turbinado sugar, then rolled each one up jelly roll style, placing them seam-side down in the individual cups of a 12-cup muffin tin that was coated with cooking spray. Then we let them rise the rest of the way, about four hours more.

Once they had at least tripled in size we brushed the tops with beaten egg and sprinkled them with turbinado sugar. We baked them at 350 degrees F for 12-18 minutes, or until they were puffy and golden. We let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes, popped them out on a plate and enjoyed them warm.

These were so freaking good. They tasted like raised jelly donuts, but without the grease.

They refill 80 HP each!
