This is the East end of the E.T. Works coming
from East Pittsburgh to Braddock. Bessmer
Terrace is up on a hill to the right. There
were twenty six open hearth furnaces in the
second long building in the picture. The
seven blast furnaces were located way back
behind the long buildings. Only two left
today. I started working in Blast Furnace
Maintenance in 1952. The pictures by Dorsett
Studio's are fantastic. I was born and raised
in Chalfant Borough and relocated out of the
sate in 1960. The pictures do bring back a
lot of memories
