Boddam, Shetland

On the last day of Christmas... last batch. In the spirit of giving @ Christmas (and a blatant attempt to boost the Scottish percentage for the last quarter of 2011 and use up lots of pictures from where I live) all these images are from Shetland... some easy, some harder - maybe? Happy Xmas ;o)

Boddam? A couple of possibilities around that way.

It is in Boddam, where were you thinking?

No, make that here maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Boddam,+Shetland+Isl ands&hl=...

It has been a real pleasure doing these, although they are pretty much impossible for someone who has never been to Shetland (like me) without lots of clues. The whole place looks magical and extraordinary, though I imagine it is rather chilly and bleak at the moment.

Spot on. The thatched building to the right on the GSV image is the Crofthouse Museum, which has been restored back to how it would have been in 1860.

It is -1 at the moment but it never gets as cold as the Highlands. But worth it when you can grab shots like this
