Leaving Comments for God

It just hit me the other day. If there is anything we "Flickrans" know about, it's comments..AKA compliments or PRAISE!
We are very much aware of how warm and fuzzy it feels to have another FLickran (but hopefully more than one) tell us something good about an image we have slaved over and then posted for literally ALL the world to see. There's a little piece of ourselves in everything we create and then share, so it follows, if, when others see it and show approval, it feels as if another part of our very self has been accepted. Whether that characteristic that we ALL have in common is a good thing or a bad thing is not what I'm about here...WHat I am about is this:
It is my personal belief that we are made by God and in His image..and
in that "likeness" to Him, we show glimmers of Him in many
ways that we may not realize are in our "spiritual genes".
The creativity so rampant on FLickr is, to me, a direct reflection of
His desire to create...MAKE something new...make it better. In fact,
as a group, the human race is almost compulsively creative, always
building more structures, designing more everything...Just like
"our Dad". But it suddenly struck me, that, as we are so
much like Him in that way, that He in turn is just as delighted as we
are with positive COMMENTS!!!
The Bible calls it PRAISE. thanksgiving, exalting Him, extolling Him,
even worshipping Him, but at it's root, if we see something beautiful
in nature and say,
"Wow! That is gorgeous!"
...if you direct that phrase audibly or silently, directly to Him, aren't we , in fact, leaving a positive COMMENT for Him?
There are a couple of places in my drive to work in the morning where I can see huge expanses of sky..sometimes if there is something especially unusual in a cloud formation or sky color, I might call MIke and say "Look out the window..quick before it changes." He might call me with the same kind of tip if he sees it first. We have a love of things like that in common.
But , more importantly, I am trying to remember to say to Him, you know, the Guy who MADE it.....(DUH!)
"Hey, Dad! (or whatever you call Him) Beautiful job on this sky!!! I'm loving it..thank you for it. WHat an artist you are...it's positively a Master-piece!!"

I have often remarked that the sky is a masterpiece created by the Big Guy, and also question if we ever really know what each other sees, the subtle colors, the picture in the clouds...? It makes it all the more special because this amazing sunrise/set and the way YOU view it, make it a brilliant gift , just for you, from Him.
