Afghanistan - begging woman

In Afghanistan, like many other places, some have to beg to earn their living. This woman is sitting under a tree next to one of the main streets in Kabul.

so sad...there was a documentary on Australian TV just recently about all the women who have been forced to beg because their husbands have died in the fighting and they have no other means of support.... and how they are looked down upon by the male members of the community...as if it is their fault!!!

This is so sad, and the washed out, pale look echoes her hopelessness. Excellent and educational photo.

Absolutely beautiful shot, but i think , i can see under the dress if you look carefully , it is a man !
His pointing man hand, the shmagh (traditional headdress of Arab men, made of a square of cloth) ......... under the dress......
