I was at the edge of the ring shooting under
the ropes.. Someone got me a press pass. I
was maybe 3 feet from this shoe. The Auto
Focus would not set so I switched to Manual
on the shoe.

Very neat! Caught my eye...cause it tells a
story, and it's well presented, in just a
little glimpse of something, so that it makes
the viewer wonder what the rest of the scene,
and the story would be. Nice use of DOF.
Great use of shallow depth of field there.
Just a bit wider aperture and the downed
fighter would have been almost
unrecognizable, but you balanced it well.

Excellent DOF and focus. How far away from the rink are you? Looks like you were just on the edge for this one.

This is amazing, everything is explained in this one shot. I would have imagined that it was a split second and the boxer would have moved.
Amazing.

The pain and the glory. Great contrast and tones but also a superb abstraction of the competitive spirit. Well worthy of putting in the book I'd say.

Sometimes dof is just dof, but other times, like this, it is cleverly used as a real device in the composition. I really like this.

Now that is compelling. So minimal, just tells the whole story. Nothing left unsaid in so few words.

Reminds me of that famous shot of Muhammed Ali and Liston because besides being ready you also had lady luck on your side. Love it.

Amazing capture with a built in implied narrative that just won't quit. Your photostream is the bomb dude, particularly the B&W's!
