We visited Paestum after Pompeii and it was a stark contrast. There were no crowds and all of the temple structures were much more accessible. I highly recommend visiting this incredible site.

In addition to all of the ancient temples, the town has a beautiful beach front and looks like a resort paradise.

Thanks Gerry! It was truly an incredible place.

For better or for worse I do much of my travel research on flickr and plan my trip firstly around visuals and then history, proximity, etc. I can't recommend Paestum enough! Everything about our visit there was wonderful.
