Well, there's the 'look down' tag, and I'll
also tell you that I've significantly upped
the contrast, and emphasised the red channel
a bit. So it pretty much looks like this, but
it's not quite as dramatic.
It's probably about 10 minutes walk from
Valvona & Crolla (the main branch, on
Leith Walk) - if that helps at all.
This is probably one of those surprisingly
beautiful things that people walk past all
the time - or in this case, walk straight
over - without ever noticing. I'm sure I'm
not the only one though!
I saw this on Regent Road, and it looks
pretty similar. Even if it's not the cracked lamp-cement, is it correct to say
this picture is of cracked cement holding a
streetlamp up?
Good call kyz! It's about half a mile from
there, and I don't think it has a lamp in it,
but it may well have done once. It looks like
that's almost certainly the same material.
OK, well I don't think it's Hillside Crescent
because there's only the tinyiest drop of
cement around there. I had a good look around
Forth Street and there's plenty of cement, a little bit of rust, but not
both.
Thanks so much Jared, I didn't see this
comment until just now so I was very confused
for about an hour when piles of people
started adding this as a favourite! I've
admired your generative art and photography
for years - without noticing that you'd also
co-founded Etsy - so the tribute means a lot
to me. :)

Amazing photo. The cracks gives in a special touch, and the colors fit perfectly.
