and I thought my "guess where edinburgh" pix were obscure. Any clues?

Well, there's the 'look down' tag, and I'll also tell you that I've significantly upped the contrast, and emphasised the red channel a bit. So it pretty much looks like this, but it's not quite as dramatic.

Amazing photo. The cracks gives in a special touch, and the colors fit perfectly.

      :)

It's probably about 10 minutes walk from Valvona & Crolla (the main branch, on Leith Walk) - if that helps at all.

This is probably one of those surprisingly beautiful things that people walk past all the time - or in this case, walk straight over - without ever noticing. I'm sure I'm not the only one though!

I saw this on Regent Road, and it looks pretty similar. Even if it's not the cracked lamp-cement, is it correct to say this picture is of cracked cement holding a streetlamp up?

      Rusty cement

Good call kyz! It's about half a mile from there, and I don't think it has a lamp in it, but it may well have done once. It looks like that's almost certainly the same material.

Is it on London Road or Broughton Street?

    18. 0olong (59 months ago | reply)

      Veerry close! But no.

    19. kyz (59 months ago | reply)

OK, well I don't think it's Hillside Crescent because there's only the tinyiest drop of cement around there. I had a good look around Forth Street and there's plenty of cement, a little bit of rust, but not both.

I picked this photo as one of my all time favorite 8 photos in Flickr's 8 years of existence. Thank you amazingness.

Thanks so much Jared, I didn't see this comment until just now so I was very confused for about an hour when piles of people started adding this as a favourite! I've admired your generative art and photography for years - without noticing that you'd also co-founded Etsy - so the tribute means a lot to me. :)

You are most welcome Fergus! The admiration is mutual.
