Bookslug 1

Sculpey & paper, about 4 inches long.

Incidentally, although this particular slug isn't for sale, I'm always willing to take commissions...

(and many of my other creations are up for grabs!)

I love it! Are those real sheets of paper too?

      Thanks all!

Yup, it's real paper - I cut a strip across a sheet of A4, folded it concertina-style, sliced open the folds at one side and stuck it in place with the help of Translucent Liquid Sculpey. The 130°C bake doesn't seem to have been enough to discolour the paper in the least - not that I'd have minded particularly if it had.

Hehe, I love all these little creatures Fergus, and this one seems to be particularly alive, despite it's more docile appearance compared to all of the roaring, starey ones.

Thanks Oli! I was quite pleased with the way this one turned out - I hadn't foreseen that eyestalks would be quite so expressive!

The book, incidentally, was an afterthought - I made its feelers and noticed that it looked like it should be holding something roughly book-shaped...

I adore this little guy! I have a book blog, would you mind if I borrowed the image? I would give full credit to you for it.

Hi JM, what sort of use do you have in mind? (I take it you saw it on Bookslut?)

Thanks - glad you like it!
