      =)
I used to climb giant fir trees as high as I could in a forest behind our house as a kid. I always thought it was a sort of serene feeling, where there was no sound except for the wind and the birds. I could get away by myself where nobody could find me or even see me. In my mind, the higher I climbed the further I got away from everything, but still see the neighborhoods and everything going on - and the further up I climbed the more I could see. Disconnected yet still connected. Unfortunately, they eventually cut them all down to build more homes. I still climbed the few trees left or at my aunts far, but it wasn't the same. Ergo, the irony of this wonderful shot and your smiling face for this dedication.
      Thank you, Ravina!

wow, that sounds amazing. It is so sad when lovely tall trees are cut down to make room for cookie cutter houses. I climbed up this giant redwood in petaluma once and it was so incredible. nothing quite like it!
      =) you're welcome.

I know - when I frst moved into my house there was nothing but forest above us. But I did notice a sign from the owner - 27 acres for $27 million. Within a month they were chopping everything down. Directly above me were homes starting at $750k. Beautiful homes with an amazing view. But now there are much less deer coming thru. May be a blessing in disguise because the few that still hang around eat all the bird food I put out. It still bothers me though that trees that are decades old if not longer are just whacked down with no thought almost like putting your grandma down even though she's got so much life left in her. It's just unfair.
Thanks again for the dedication. I'm sorry I met you just once at Acey's little show. Hopefully the next time you're in Stumptown we can meet again. You're the bees knees. Take care. :)
