brocoli avec almondes
My lunch today: About a quarter kilo broccoli with a clove of garlic and almonds, served with slices of wholemeal bread.
Really quick to prepare: Simply chop the brocoli into pieces. I usually use most of the stem (only remove leaves and the end of the stem) and cut it into small pieces. Then I roast it gently with butter (or magarine) in a wide pan. The garlic (minced) is added a bit later. When the brocoli starts to get a bit golden, add water to the pan (or white wine) so that the broccoli can boil for about 5 minutes. (I added so much water that there's about 5mm water in the pan.) When all the water is used up, add the almond slivers (I used about 50g, a bit much) and again let it roast until the slivers have a golden color. Finally salt it to taste. Serve with bread.
Overall, from start to finish, it takes about 20 Minutes maximum and is really rather cheap and delicious.
