Save The Environment
রাজধানী ঘিরে রয়েছে প্রায় দেড় হাজার ইটখোলা। জনবসতির তিন কিলোমিটারের মধ্যে ইটখোলা নির্মাণ নিষিদ্ধ থাকলেও রাজধানী ঘিরে গড়ে উঠেছে প্রায় দেড় হাজার ইটখোলা। এসব ইটখোলায় পোড়ানো নিম্নমানের কয়লা, টায়ার, প্লাস্টিক ও রাবারের টুকরার নির্গত কালো ধোঁয়া প্রতিনিয়তই দূষিত করছে ঢাকার বাতাস। ফলে ঘনবসতিপূর্ণ ঢাকার দেড় কোটি মানুষের স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবেশ পড়ছে হুমকির মুখে। অকালমৃত্যুর শিকার হচ্ছে অসংখ্য মানুষ।
ইটখোলা ও গাড়ির ধোঁয়ার কারণে ঢাকার বাতাসে ভাসমান অতি ক্ষুদ্র বস্তুকণার পরিমাণ ভয়াবহ আকারে বাড়ছে। এসব বস্তুকণার পরিমাণ শীতকালের ১২০ দিন আরো বেশি থাকে। জনস্বাস্থ্যের জন্য হুমকি বিবেচনা করে প্রচলিত সনাতন পদ্ধতির ইট তৈরি পর্যায়ক্রমে বদ্ধ করে পরিবেশবান্ধব ইট ব্যবহারের পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া জরুরি।
