Alex...a genius in the making.

This is Alex who is one of my classmates at university. I consider him to be the smartest student at U of T that I have met or heard of. Of course, at U of T there are many extremely smart students, but Alex has that little extra thing that make you easily consider him to be a genius.

Yesterday, a classmate asked him to solve some question from a 2005 midterm and so Alex solved it on the board. Of course, like many geniuses he has illegible hand writing. (I think he thinks way faster than he can write!) After he finished I asked him to pose for the camera with his answer and so here it is. As can be seen in this photo that Alex is extremely self confident. When asked how confident that his answer is correct, he usually replies with, “100%”. I am very positive that in the future Alex will make either a major discovery or an invention, or both, or a combination of the two!

I hope you like the post processing of the photo (thanks Gimp!). For some reason the whole scene just gave me the feeling to turn the colours to what you see now—kind of tuned down the colours and increased the contrast. I am very pleased with the results. I hope you like it too.

PS: If you are wondering about the title. Well, Alex studies so hard that he is literally turning himself into a genius. And by looking at the photo you probably will never guess that his hobbies include beat boxing and martial arts!
