this is great! We had too much snow and not enough frost last weekend... I took photos with roses too but not anything so perfect! :)

Color and exposure are great. Crop feels a little tight, but it works.
My only problem is I want to see more detail in the frost.

I have mixed feelings about this - it's a striking image certainly but somehow it doesn't quite work for me. I almost think a much closer more detailed shot might work better.

I dunno if the deleteme! group is going to demolish this one but I love it.

I am not sure if you used a tripod but 1/40th could explain why it is not as sharp as it could be. I also think you should boost the colour a little bit more more impact but that is personal taste.

The crop dosent work, not close enough to remove all the background distractions not far enough away to put it in its context.
The main appeal is the frost and it's blown out. Still life is juged harshly. You've got a compliant subject, take many shots and get it (close to) perfect.

magicmulder have you posted a picture to the pool, if so you must be stripping your tags and comments afterwards. I only ask as although I recognise your name from commenting I don't recollect a single photo of yours and wonder if you'd like to post one ;0)

It is a bit of a tight crop but none the less, I do like the middle part of the rose the best. Very nice.

I like the effect of the "masked" low intensity background. The blue chromatic noise is a technical error, though. And somehow for 620Kb, I would want a sharper image. Those technical things aside, a great composition and rich color tonalities. Not quite safeworthy, though.

I knew that we would have a lot of frozen things since temperature slow down...
@wit: this magiccrap is really a pain, ban him and I save your crap.

I think it has all been said: I want the whole thing sharp, especially those frosticles.

@W: I don't recollect that MM has posted, but it's not a requirement: I haven't, and won't be until I either go Pro, or if I upload a suitable one next month ...

I wasn't insisting he post although it would be nice if a few of our members posted more. There has been a trend of some people joining in just to throw comments at others work without actually posting photos themselves. Recently the pool often appears very small with the same names valiantly posting while the rest provide a gauntlet. I think its time some more of you actually ran that gautlet so that you can appreciate the whole Deleteme experience.

I don´t see any blue tinted edges, and the frost is more than detailed to me. You´re so lucky to have seen this, there´s no way you couldn´t have taken this photograph. Way to go!

Beautiful capture of ice. My roses just dry and wither when hit by frost, nothing as spectacular as this.
