      I don't know - I passed it while travelling in Otago, on New Zealand's South Island. Unfortunately I can't remember exactly where: in my travel journal I wrote 'Catlins', which is at the south end, below Dunedin.

      A quick Google shows me www.justourpictures.com/newzealand/SouthIslan d2000_10.html (scroll to the bottom) - this looks similar and there's a story about its origin, but the text implies the fence is near Christchurch.

      There's a fence somewhere in the south island too with old underwear all over it.. mostly bras I think!
