* KIB230 Interface and Information Design [Task One]
// An infographic is a visual representation of any information with any number of variables that makes an idea, topic or data set easier to understand.
In saying that single words where used to explain the activity as opposed to icons (not good at art), colour to represent level of enjoyment, linear sequence to depict chronology and height to emphasise the percentage of time in a day devoted (on average) to that activity.
I've always liked clean infographics and style is very much a representation of that, however I think its overall aesthetic appeal is let down by a lack of artistic skill and lack of familiarity in illustrator (just wanted to try though :)
The sun and moon where small visual cues that allow the viewer to quickly understand time in relation to the events (in addition to the time stamp ‘6am’). I rarely find myself sitting around doing nothing therefore there are no gaps between activities.
The small blurbs around the timeline add depth to the graphic without detracting from the main concept. They are not required as explanatory devices but simply exist as something extra for the viewer to explore.
