Porthmadog Cob at Dusk

I've been to a quite a few nice places in Britain with my camera over the last few years, including many parts of Scotland, Cornwall, Pembrokeshire, and the Peak and Lake districts.
Must admit there are few sights I've seen so lovely as Porthmadog Cob on the last evening of my holiday.
Frustrated I was limited to my wide angle lens, but I'll live with that until I get a chance to return

      Nice shot Terry.

The Cob is a sea wall, with a road and a narrow gauge railway running over the top of it. It was built in 1811 to reclaim a large area of Traeth Mawr from the Sea. It has an unintended consequence in that it diverted the Glaslyn River which scoured out a large basin deep enough to take the draught of ocean going ships and subsequently made Porthmadog one of the busiest ports on the Llyn.

It is awesome...despite the lens. I often seem to pick up the lens I think I'll use - to find I really need the one I left back in the car....
