216/365: The technology trap
26.6.09
A bit of over-engineered mayhem for flickr64 round 2. I'm up against dimiqueen, go check her out if you don't know her work.
Also for MSH's jazz(ed up) hands. Ha ha. Still a few to get, after shameless pillaging of the archives...
Sometimes, the ideas have a life of their own. This would have been a whole lot easier if my iphone actually allowed me to upload photos. But no. It doesn't.
It seemed like time to put (a bit of) myself back in the frame. Plus it was a while since I'd grovelled on the floor for scanning purposes.

My original idea was this bit of high-key simplicity, but the mayhem above won out...
CharlaneG (36 months ago | reply)
I like both shots, but the high key one a bit better. great concept

Thanks, peeps!
Thanks! I'd been itching to re-shoot it,
because in the original one of my fingers
wasn't hooked through the bar and so was a
bit blurry. But I think I prefer the
processing on the original. Hmm.

Love the outtake as well!!!!
(side note... I can load photos on my iphone... do you know why you can't? are you on a Mac? If so, I might be able to help?)
alibubba (36 months ago | reply)
Oh man, I love when you do these hands shots!! This is fabulous. I really love the outtake too.
Meshl (36 months ago | reply)
Really strong concept and the image just pulls me in, an artistic optical illusion. The outtake has a different mood and I'm glad you shared it, I like it a lot. Good luck!

I forgot to add a comment on the actual photo (although i did in the voting) .... FIVE hands won it for me! :-)
You can download an application called 'file magic', ah ... hang on ... erm, it works with mac osX and probably with windows, but it means you can just use your iPhone/iPod touch to store all sorts of files which can be opened on the device. it's sweeeet. :-)

Looking at your hands it's obvious to me that you don't use just any old washing up liquid..... Fairy all the way! Now hands that do dishes can feel as soft as your face...... Mild green fairy liquid!
