158/365: I was much further out than you thought / And not waving but drowning

~Stevie Smith~

29.4.09

Against the odds, the laws of nature, gravity, you name it, I have made it through to the last eight of the flickr64 challenge. So it seemed like the moment to try something completely different.

I'm up against the great talulayu in this round. Check out her rather fabulous stream.

This texture, and that.

I look at life a little like this.

I know I already commented on this but everytime I see it I just want to fave it again a hundred times over. I find the two different textures slightly confusing though. When I first saw this I thought the water droplets were part of the picture of your hands and couldn't be helped, but then I realised it was a second texture and thought it was a bit of an odd choice. But then again, I guess it works when considering the title.

I'll stop leaving essays with your pictures now :)

  39. SophieG* (37 months ago | reply)

I know what you're saying. I could have just used the ripply texture. I kind of wanted it to feel like I was trapped in a water tank though, not just underwater. (I know, a bit weird.) Also sometimes I suffer from texture overkill. Anyway, it was my first scanner pic, and I can see I'll be trying more of these, as it's a way of doing selfies without really being visible(!), so watch this space. And thanks for your comments, which I really appreciate. Feel free to leave an essay anytime. :)

The stuff you're doing with the hands (and feet/toes!) is really just...right up my alley. I am seriously enjoying looking at all of this.
