Rosybill Pochard (Netta peposaca)...

During one of my walks to Apex Park two bird-watching gentlemen told me to go to the main lake and look for the ''red billed duck''. They obviously didn't know what this visitor was and neither did I. I was happy to spot the bird swimming among mullards, geese and gulls and did manage to get a decent picture of it...
On the way back I met again the two kind gentlemen, showed them the picture and promised I will do my best to identify it...
Apparently this species is not endemic in the UK. I have no idea how it arrived here. Perhaps the RSPB can give some more information...

According to Wikipedia... this is a Rosy-billed Pochard, alternatively named Rosybill, or Rosybill Pochard (Netta peposaca), a duck with a distinctive red bill on males and a slate-colored bill on females. Though classified as a diving duck, this pochard feeds more like a dabbling duck.

The Rosy-billed Pochard is endemic to South America. It is found in Argentina, central Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay and southern Brazil. The population in southern Argentina migrates northward during the austral winter, reaching Brazil and southern Bolivia. It is a vagrant to the Falkland Islands.
