Sean ~ Senior Sun Play
Probably my signature shooting style, either it is with the sun or the sun sets..
here i shot this cool senior in a parking lot.. so simple but so easy..
what makes it cool is the sun play of course..
i couldn't do this shot if i didn't have an understanding about off camera lighting..
i used 2 speed lights in a shoot thru umbrella for this shot.
this was when i was using my pocket wizard flex flex combo..
i have recently purchased radio poppers for the same thing..
i love lighting and i love lighting systems..
if you make lighting important to your shooting style i think that will set you apart from other photographers..

@Sarah
did you drop them> ? the Cactus triggers? i dropped mine and the battery was loose and then i took it apart and from there, i bent the battery connectors back to where they should be and all is well..
maybe you repair your receiver?
Sarah Burnie (26 months ago | reply)
the receiver is faulty. I've tried it with different flashes. It just stopped working after two weeks of using it. I'm sending it away however I'm just going to spend the extra cash on PW.

I've got to get a set of flexes. Thinking of the radio poppers but not sure which yet. Lovely flare. Rocked it again, pal.

I love your photos man, what kind of metering do you use for these? Center-weighted? Keep it up.

Well done!!! Yes, playing with light is the essence of photography.
Duy Truong Photography (26 months ago | reply)
You can certainly play with the sun!
The lighting is amazing
mtnman867 (26 months ago | reply)
Do you use any special filters when you do shots like this? i've tried shots with the sun behind the subject and it just doesn't work.
Duy Truong Photography (26 months ago | reply)
You don't have to use filters. You just have to angle the sun just right.
SOmetimes when I shoot with the sun, it turns out like this too
Kevlarrr (26 months ago | reply)
Nice work sir!
~Phamster~ (26 months ago | reply)
@ Mtnman867..
you have to get the angle just right.. and you also have to get your fill light right.. that combination will yield an exposure like this..
thanks guys and gals.. play with sun is so fun for me..

Do you have any other photos at this same location with a higher shutter speed and a larger aperture?
