Indonesia - Flores Island - Blue Hour over Rice Fields in Moni Village
Rice fields were high on my photographic agenda during my visit to Indonesia and I was able to capture some great shots of rice terraces already in Bali. When I got to Flores island, my main focus were those incredilble volcanic lakes on Kelimutu. As I was wondering around very small Moni village, (which is a base for the trek to the volcano) during the evening I noticed wonderful reflections of surrounding countryside in rice fields full of water. I was not planning to shoot anything after sunset that evening, so I didnt take my tripod with me. When I saw the light changing I thought that it would be great to capture rice fields during my favorite blue hour. I used my photographic bag as a tripod to keep the camera steady in fading light. This final result is one of my favorite shots from Indonesia so far. Yet again I'm happy to come with my take on this very popular subject - rice fields how you normally dont see them.
