Czech Republic - Prague - Praha - Way to the Stardom or Way of the Stardom - Dusk at Charles Bridge - Karlův most
The Charles Bridge - Karlův most - is a famous historic bridge that crosses the Vltava river in Prague, Czech Republic. Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV, and finished in the beginning of the 15th century. As the only means of crossing the river Vltava (Moldau), the Charles Bridge was the most important connection between the Old Town, Prague Castle and adjacent areas until 1841. This "solid-land" connection made Prague important as a trade route between Eastern and Western Europe. The bridge was originally called the Stone Bridge (Kamenný most) or the Prague Bridge (Pražský most) but has been the "Charles Bridge" since 1870.
Less usual view of Prague than those you can normally see on that countless amount of photos, postcards, books etc.. and I wonder why as it is really lovely view. I was not aware that there is second set of street lights on the bridge, they are rather strong and normally would ruin the shot. I have used f22 to turn them into stars. If you look at lower right part, you will see very tiny stars on the bridge, it is nothing else than people using their flash on their cameras to capture the view from below.
