Bulgaria - Dramatic Stormy View over Meander at Kardzhali Reservoir
Meander on the Kardzhali or Kurdzhali (Bulgarian: Кърджали, Turkish: Kırcaali) Dam is one of the most picturesque landscape in Bulgaria. Although you can see this view from the road, you must know where to go, it is not along any regular road that you would normally drive. This was one of the locations I wanted to capture during my visit in Bulgaria. Original plan was to be there for the sunrise, however as everything got postpone, I only got there in the afternoon. I was hoping for some dramatic light as I was driving towards the location but instead the strongest rain in quite a while was just falling from the sky. I thought of turning the car back, but I said to myself that I have to believe and just drove upfront visualizing dramatic clouds and beautiful frontal sunshine. And that was what I got at the end. Incredible scenery in amazing dramatic conditions. The view itself is really spectacular but the stormy weather just added something I was hoping for.

Great composition on this one, but I feel the gradient on the sky is a little over-the-top. A little less dark and less purple, perhaps? It just doesn't match the lighting on the further sections of lake in a believable way.

Great point for shooting this image. Agree with Er1kksen but want to add that the left side of the river seems to be cut off just by a few mm's?? would be great to have it in frame, I believe. Nonetheless, what a great image. Your photography is always inspiring!
