Varanasi (Sanskrit: वाराणसी Vārāṇasī, also commonly known as Benares or Banaras (Hindi: बनारस, Urdu: بنارس, Banāras) is a city situated on the banks of the River Ganges in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, regarded as holy by Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and probably the oldest of India
The Ganges (Hindi: गंगा Ganga, Tamil: கங்கை) is one of the major rivers of the Indian subcontinent, flowing east through the Gangetic Plain of northern India into Bangladesh. The 2,510 km (1,560 mi) river rises in the western Himalayas in the Uttarakhand state of India, and drains into the Sunderbans delta in the Bay of Bengal. It has long been considered a holy river by Hindus and worshiped as the goddess Ganga in Hinduism.

Stunning Lucie. This images screams out India in so many ways. The traditionally dressed woman, the ritual, the Ganges river and the seemingly hot sun are all something I associate with India. Great capture.
Either you have a lot of vacation from work or you have taken the big step and gone fully professional. I got the hunch that the later one is the case and well deserved as well.
