Lebanon - Sunrise at Pigeons' Rock (Raouché) in Beirut

Raouche is a residential and commercial neighborhood in Beirut, Lebanon. It is known for its upscale apartment buildings, numerous restaurants, cliff-side cafes and its wide seaside sidewalk, the Corniche, where strollers and joggers crowd the pavements in the evenings and weekend. Off the coast of Raouche, there is a natural landmark called the Pigeons' Rock (also known as the Rock of Raouche). Located at Beirut's western-most tip, the two huge rock formations, which stand like gigantic sentinels, are a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. Raouche's Pigeons' Rock has recently been featured on the front page of Microsoft's Bing.

When I had to pick my first blue hour/sunrise location in Beirut, I decided to go to Pigeons' Rock, even thought the sunrise would not provide dramatic colors as the sunset due to the location position as I already had plans for the evening time somewhere else. I was hoping for some nice clouds that would reflect the rising sun from the other side. Fortunately luck was on my side and I got some nice pink color on that lovely cloud. I was tempted to clone those rocks on each side away, but for reason I cannot define, I decided to leave it as is.

Wow, impressive view. I would love to photograph this place. I am tempted to clone the the rocks on each side, but that's just my freaking annoyance for perfection/control. Ignore me please. :) You know that "imperfection" is the thing that gives beauty to a lot of things, including ourselves. Love this one!

One of the best Pigeon Rocks photos I've seen.
Nice to see it at sunrise instead of all the sunset versions.
The rocks on the left and right hold it together; don't clone!
