Bahrain - Old & New - Traditional Dhow at Bahrain Financial Harbour
Bahrain Financial Harbour (BFH) is a world-class, fully integrated master planned development aiming to create a complete financial city, a self contained community, in the centre of Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain. The Bahrain Financial Harbour Development Project covers a prime seafront property where reclamation and infrastructure development will be undertaken. The property will be developed into a diversified range of office, residential, retail, leisure and dining components that will cater to all needs. The development is located on the north facing shore of Manama, adjacent to the commercial centre “Bab Al Bahrain”, and is seen prominently from the King Faisal Highway. BFH is an approximate 10 minute drive from the Bahrain International Airport and 15 minutes away from the King Fahad Causeway, which connects Bahrain to Saudi Arabia. The development will be built on a site area of 380,000 m2 of reclaimed land.
I like this photo for its simplicity and cultural contrast of newly constructed buildings and the traditional dhow in the harbor. Sun was on the very right and still rather low which created the colorless finish of the photo.

Great composition. I love the lighting that causes the water and sky to merge almost seamlessly.

Great contrast between old things and new things (I must admit I usually prefer the old ones).
Skeleton towers reminds me alien threepods on H.G. Wells' "War of the Words".

Kuwait and Bahrain have a lot in common, actually they can be seen as "relatives" even in the ruling family. It's interesting how even their old boats looks exactly the same as Kuwait's.
