Kuwait - Kuwait towers by night from 56th floor of The Al Hamra Tower

The Kuwait Towers are three towers of reinforced concrete in Kuwait City. The main tower is 187 metres high and serves as a restaurant and water tower. It also has a Viewing Sphere which rises to 123 meters above sea level and completes a full round turn every 30 minutes. The second tower is 145.8 metres high and serves as a water tower. The third tower houses equipment to control the flow of electricity and illuminates the two bigger towers.

This is a view taken from 56th floor of The Al Hamra Tower, which is a supertall skyscraper currently under construction in downtown Kuwait City, Kuwait. Designed by architectural firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, the tower will become the tallest building in Kuwait on completion in 2010 at 412 m (1,350 ft). It will also be the tallest sculpted tower in the world. The tower will include 98,000 m2 (1,050,000 sq ft) of commercial and office space. The building will connect to a five-storey retail mall which totals 23,000 m2 (250,000 sq ft) of retail space and will include an integrated theater complex and an 11-storey carpark. The tower itself will be built on an 18,000 m2 (190,000 sq ft) construction site.

The Al Hamra Tower will have over 70 floors of office space, a rooftop restaurant and a spa. The shopping centre will include a 10-screen cinema complex which will also have IMAX theaters. As of February 12, 2009, construction of the tower had reached over 263 metres. The eleven-storey car parking is currently nine floors overground, while four floors of the shopping centre have been completed and construction on that component carries on. The tower itself is currently on the fifty-sixth level. Topping-out is scheduled for late 2009, with the tower opening in the second half of 2010.

Sublime shot, unique angle, when it's completed it will be reason enough to go to Kw (with a public observation deck I hope). Strange the streets are completely devoid of traffic.
