Mongolia - Places to stay
![]() This is a sunrise photo from another place we stayed in Mongolia. It was particularly interesting night as we have adjusted our trip schedule and we were not really sure where we stay that night. We have passed couple of camps that our guide thought we might stay, but none were there, so we drove on..
Imagine complete darkness, no signs, just dust road (if you can actually call it a road) and nothing around us. We started to be bit worried where we'll sleep that night, but somehow our driver remembered one family he stayed over once. I have no idea how he found it, but he did. There were two of these gers where a family lived their usual life. We arrived there and they were very kind to let us stay in one of their gers. They all move over to the other smaller one. Imagine, it is like you live in your house, some strange group of foreigners come over and you move to your garden house and give them all your house to stay in. We have been deeply impressed and thankful. This definitely wasn't typical tourist thing, but real life experience, especially when all 7 of slept in this one ger… you really have to rethink what is your personal space..
