Basique (44/52)

I have been so unsatisfied with myself lately. I can't seem to grasp what my photographic style is, or if I even have one. There are ideas in my head and I need to get them out, to borrow from a good song. I'm proud of my commissions, but it seems like I've lost touch of the love of creating like I had with the 365. (So part of me is incredibly excited for 2012 to arrive, but another part is terrified that I won't be able to regather my senses.)

I don't even know what point I'm trying to make. I doubt anyone reads this, but it's nice to put what I'm feeling out there. Just bear with me as I struggle through this.

But this photo is one that I feel an ounce of pride for. There's still tons of things I wish I could change ... but oh well.

And I'm posting it early because tomorrow is going to be a busy and exciting day hanging out with some amazing girls! I cannot wait.

b&w version here.

you have incredible talents, your photos and your words inspire me. i'm sorry we have to feel these things, when regardless of what anyone says, i don't believe that what i make is beautiful or who i am is beautiful, but believe me when i say that i believe in you. and most importantly God believes in you and he believes in me. keep shining.

the fact that you KNOW what you would like to change about the photo is what is important. you will eventually learn to do that. the fact that you recognize things that you CAN do better proves that you have the ability to be better than that. do you know what i mean?

Oh women, I love your work - it's so unique and lively. I totally understand how you feel (because I'm like that myself as the moment), but I think you're doing perfectly well for yourself. <3
