I like this! Beautiful blues. I love the balance, and the imbalance of the roses and the frame.

I really like this shot. Very clever / whimsical. Love the contrast of colors and placement of the frame in the shot.

Beautiful :) I love it like this
if you haddd to change anything, maybe a little bit more stem for the flowers in the frame (well, one anyway :P)
jess_marie (64 months ago | reply)
I don't think it's over the top at all.
Instead of maybe cutting off the top of the flower, cut off a bit more stem. But that's my only critique. (I basically agree with kapowlollypops)

I like it a lot. Not over the top. Interesting and intriguing and lovely.

Evy and Jess - I actually had a bit more stem showing in my sketch, I'll do that for my final piece, thankyou =)

I like it, specially the colours and the brown frame

that looks very beautiful kirra. the blue colours are wonderful. =)
Bogaugon (64 months ago | reply)
The blue background is a very good choice. I would have left the five white flowers all with different stem lengths and at least one taller than the frame to balance the composition. I'm not sure, but at least give a try putting the 2 flowers inside the frame parallel instead of in different directions.
A tad more light to the general composition I think might give more detail. In general the composition is nice and original. I don't think it is over the top at all.

Thankyou, I'll be trying different stuff later for the final piece, thanks for your help. The flower on the left is the tallest I have, so I can't have one taller than the frame
Iceler (64 months ago | reply)
little hint, think 3 dimensions + depth, also try different lighting settings :)
sometimes good design needs different perspective, every line/angle/position/color/shape/lighting should have its own meaning, leave more blank spaces, and let your design speak for herself (imagination will develop between the design and the viewers)...

Thankyou, this was basically a different style for me, I was trying to make the picture less real by not having shadows etc
But thanks =) this is just a test after all
Bogaugon (64 months ago | reply)
I'll take Iceler advice for me too!! Thanks!! I enjoy this space so much because I'm always learning.

Dear Kirra,
We are about to launch a new website called QwertyPics which provides a free space for photographers from all over the world to showcase their best pictures together with a short background story. We have not started promoting the website yet as we are currently in the process of identifying talented photographers and great images to get things off to a good start!
We have come across your picture Still Life Experiment One which we think is great and will fit into our Still Life category!
We are therefore pleased to extend our invitation to showcase you picture for free on the website along with a short background story of maximum 140 words (and minimum 40 words). Part of our simple concept is also to provide a free backlink to your photography website or other online portfolio.
You will be one of the very first photographers to feature on the website (in fact you might not be able to see any categories on the website yet as these have not yet been populated).
What is it in it for you?
It's simple, you will gain more exposure for your work and as mentioned you will also get a free link back to your photography website or other online portfolio of your choice. Backlinks to your website from other quality websites such as QwertyPics will increase your search engine ranking on search engines like Google, Yahoo etc.
You can read more about QwertyPics here: qwertypics.com/about/
If you are interested in submitting your image please read our submission guidelines here: qwertypics.com/submission-guidelines/
and then you can submit here: qwertypics.com/submit/.
Thank you in advance for your contribution.
Best regards,
Thomas Folke Andersen

P.S. If you know other photographers who could be interested in submitting their work for a showcase at QwertyPics please feel free to pass on the word.
