Got Fish?

:D

My friendly heron is still around, but the freeze and snow that are on the way have me praying he doesn't leave for warmer climates. The pond he's hanging around did freeze over in past years, so chances are he will take off at some point... :(

wow, this is an extreme close-up -- well done!

Do you use some sort of a hide to get a shot like this @420mm?

Fantastic shot, Jon! Don't worry, your heron will most likely be around during winter. They don't mind snow/ice and cold that much... www.pbase.com/bettyvlasiu/image/109364722

    thanks guys.

@dmcantrell - no hide, just a pond, juv heron that's friendly and probably now 25+ visits to the pond in like 4 months.

@Laura - yeah, I know, but if it freezes completely will he turn himself in to an ice breaker or go towards freer flowing water that's not covered in ICE?
