Mayor of Squirrelsville, Maine

big

I guess he didn't care for the orange.

See below for the setup - the flash is outside. The above photo was actually shot using a friend's nikkor 300mm f/4 AF lense. Since he was backlit, the flash helped a lot.

Interesting.........why arn't you using the wireless flash to do this?

  3. tperry111(Thom) (66 months ago | reply)

    I love the capture...........

I've found wireless through windows like this is a pain, plus it eliminates the pre-flashes.

This does not look like the type of squirrel I am accostomed to seeing around the Northern Virginia / Maryland area... but I had assumed from your profile that is where you were living. Travelling photographer, or travelling squirrel?

This is a great photo, I love the way you've showed the process. I am a little confused though, is this a 3 legged squirrel? He seems to be missing his left front leg, or am I going crazy?

  17. Nikographer [Jon] (66 months ago | reply)

He has 3 legs on the orange....:D

Yeah Doug, I'm dripping over here.

And Looktouch, that was some reference... Way beyond me, I had to search on google to find a Bio. And Thank You!

Neat Shot - and an interesting set up. No wonder you would want to take pics from the inside if it is that wet. It was trying to rain here all day, but thankfully didn't.......... not the greatest light though....... all of todays shots are grainy............. not sure what I will be posting yet. Came upon a Peregrine feeding on a dunlin, several eagles and a Cooper's Hawk today. One Snowy Owl, but far out in the marsh. OH wel, you will see. I should have headed to Brackendale, the sky north looked sunny and blue.

This will be my very first favorite pic on Flickr! Watching squirrels (Scandinavian squirrels have bushier tails) have made me late for work more than once - beautiful animal and a beautiful pic!

Now I'd love a nice juicy orange...
