I was watching these two sit along the shore for a while. Then the female let out a call, and the male went to work...

Hey this is an amazing pic. My husband and I were at Blackwater on Sunday December 24th. We pulled over on the road where some guys with big scopes were looking at something on a rock....it looked alot like your photos. Thanks for sharing these----our lens was not as giant!

I've only whitness this act once and mine might be a little closer but not that well focused either not enough light for my 1200mm lens.

Amazing shot! I've got a hint for you. Go to the hardware and buy a piece of insulation for copper water pipes. Cut a piece as long as your window. When you go to shoot from the car, just slip it onto the window and brace your camera against it.

Wow, they are at it early. I guess it does make sense, as the eggs need time to develop until hatching time sometime in March or so.
I hope I get to see this.... lol...... gosh I feel like such a voyeur!!!!!!
