The 100 mile sunrise

I drove about 100 miles to get a chance to witness the sunrise at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge in Maryland. I'd say getting up at 4am was worth it.

    D200, 18-70mm kit lense, tripod, 1/2sec, f/25 @ ISO 100, using 10 second shutter timer...

    See more from Blackwater...

      Thanks!

I used to think ``making it to the zoo by 10am`` getting a good start to the day and that's just about 15 miles away... Wow what a year of photography and flickr can do to you!

Amazing! certainly worth the drive. Very little to say, it is just perfect in every aspect!
I've been fluctuating between D80 and D200. Think this has helped me make up my mind. As it is the photographer not camera I still shan't achieve this!!

Sunrises are in a way, risky business to get up so early for...you never really know do you?
This one however looks like it was worth the 4:00 A.M. wake up call....Beautiful!
