Eagle in Flight @ Blackwater, Maryland

While driving around the area, I spotted this guy, stopped, clicked a few photos from my car, and he took off... He was trying to hide in the top of this pine tree.

Great example of stop-action---and really shows how the wings are dynamic---while the face is almost still.

Perfect shutter speed as you blurred the wings and kept the beak sharp. Action.

Jon, the eagle didn't know that it was impossible to hide from the sharp eyes of a good photographer like you.

great shot this jon. I might be tempted to clone out the trees. and leave the bird free against the blue sky. it would look superb as it is a great capture. well done.

      Thanks everyone.

Lol Alan, I have about 4 more shots after this one without the tree, but picked this one because of the tree! Without the tree it is just a flying bird... With the tree, it helped tell my story of spotting him and his takeoff...

I just posted the shot you wanted to see Alan:

Very nice - I really need to make it down to Conowingo and see the myriad of eagles they have there.
