Two Bald Eagles (1) @ Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, Maryland

A change of pace from my usual tight crops...

This was my first trip to Blackwater, and it was excellent. I highly recommend checking out the areas besides the "Wildlife Drive"... By volume I saw many more eagles while venturing around the area. I went past the main enterance and crossed the bridge and then took a right at the "T"... If you're familiar with that area, this is from roughly halfway between the two bridges.

Very well captured shot of the eagle couple. Thanks for the information Jon. When I visited Blackwater this summer, things looked quite different.

Excellent look Jon. They really are powerful birds. I love the poise and intensity they project. I just had a couple move in by me.

I know exactly where this "eagle tree" is! I was at Blackwater this weekend but the tree was empty. Well done!
