    Nikon D300, 80-400mmVR, double off camera flash (not sure if the 2nd one fired). Shot in full manual mode (ISO, shutter, f/stop, flash output).

      I don't understand how you took this nearly perfect photo. 400mm focal length. What sort of flash are you using? I just found the answer in tags SB-800 with a 9ft remote cord or was that a SB-29 ring flash, you did say two flash units.

      The eagle has to be at least 20 ft away. Yes/No?
      Are you hand holding the camera or on a tripod of some form?

      It's a beautiful photo. Thank you for the link to the larger size. I know theft is a problem but you really can't appreciate photos that are smaller than the 1080 pixels or larger. So many people are not allowing the larger views any more.
