Bringing Junior His Lunch (1 of 2)

From Great Falls National Park. I was pretty excited yesterday when the ranger pointed me towards this Eagles Nest. I saw all three yesterday, and went back today for some more action.

Most of the time Junior (as I'm calling 'em) was alone in the nest. He didn't do much, except the occasional hop around the nest, and once I saw him move a twig from one side to the other. Then after a good bit of waiting, one of the parents returned to the nest with a Fish for Junior. Be sure to see the next photo also of the parent landing in the nest.

interesting how ospreys always turn their catch parallel to their bodies, yet eagles don't seem to care....is it because eagles are bigger (stronger)?? is it because ospreys are smarter?? is it determined by talon configuration??....hmmmm, i wonder....does anyone know???....aside from that, NICE SHOT!!

Jon, that's no fish. That's a sea monster! Junior won't be able to get up for week after eating it.

      Great shot!
