Excellent shot! The slow shutter on the falls
is great - how did you get the heron to stay
still for 2.5 secs???! Seen in My contact's photos An Awesome Shot Award You are invited to add this image to An Awesome Shot! ~CONTESTS~ Enter/Vote now Please tag the photo with

For the record, this is not manipulated other
than for levels and sharpness... (updated,
oops, I did remove some dust spots too.)
Recently I began to notice how still the
herons sometimes stay while looking in to the
water for prey. Combine that observation
with the typical flowing water/long exposure
shots of the Falls, and this is what I've
worked on there for my last few visits
(Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday). I've been
lugging around my tripod too...
That's a thinking photographer at work,
folks... and to beautiful effect, at that. I
even like the way the light and water are
flowing in the same direction.. with even the
same softness, as you've portrayed it... then
the heron's gaze follows the flow as well!
Lots to Like in this one, Jon (... the Last
of which is that you didn't use photoshop
much in it, since, to me it would still have
been one hellava digital image either way!).

Don't jump!!! Tomorrow will be a better fishing day! :-) I like the setting for making the water smooth. Nice shot, Jon!

I had no idea that lens could go up to f/36.
Awesome capture! It looks almost like you caught the peaks of a mountain above the clouds.
