      I have no connection with your estate nor with any of its inhabitants and have only come to know about Lewisham Council's plans via the media. I can see that this estate is a fine example of the true community spirit which all 3 major political parties pretend to endorse. The trouble is that they're all liars and cheats and in the pockets of business people and developers! Your community doesn't make money in its present state, so the fact that it is well-ordered and that those living there behave themselves is of no importance whatsoever to the powers-that-be. Remember that there is profit in chaos and the chaos the new estate will surely bring will keep the politicians happy for years to come (both financially via back-handers and politically with all the social problems that will be generated!).
