Brie

Brie looks a little better, with more flesh on her bones now.

She got very excited today when I let her walk around my desk for a few minutes. She was so excited, she wouldn't keep still until I fed her water :s

After her drink she started rushing around again and I was very worried she might jump off my desk - she didn't like me to handle her and I was quite reluctant to take more photos of her because it is really not easy to handle the camera and hold her when she doesn't want to be held. I'm not willing to take risks when it comes to my hams :s

Brie and her sister Blue were adopted hams I took in on April Fool's Day.

Glad to hear both are doing so well.

Sorry it is such a boring photo - she was very nervous and wouldn't relax, so I didn't want to stress her too much by persisting with my camera.

I am most certainly looking forward to the time where they both can be re-introduced. I am finding their temporary tanks too small as it is.

    Thank you ^___^

Thank you :) I just hope she calms down a little more. She would be a complete sweetie if she did.

I don't know about happier... The past two days have been very humid here and I am unable to hook any water bottle to their temporary tanks - so I have to manually take the bottle to them twice everyday. I am looking forward to when they can be housed together so I can switch them to a larger tank with a bottle so they can access it whenever they want to.

    Arigatou ^__^ Hee!

Hmm.. The trouble with pearl hammies - some angles, she might look a little chubby.. But if you turn the other way and look at her, she's still as skinny as before :s

I mean she doesn't look so totally flat and scrawny as before. Does she have food in her pouches? She looks like life is beginning to pick up just a bit. Is she sleeping less?

Brie is definitely looking better. I hope she's feeling better too. I mean, I'd be extremely surprised if she wasn't happy in such a cute big family and most of all, with the best hammie mommy in the world! :)

Aww.. Poor hammie. Still so small! But she is looking much better. I wish her luck.

Thank you dear :) I get what you mean :)

She is still very scrawny and sometimes I wish there was a way to make her eat more. She is sleeping quite well now, and noises do not wake her as often as they used to in the past.

I think she had some salmon jerky in her pouch in this photo, but I notice she does not hoard as much as Blue does.

But you are right that she looks more lively - I think her eyes have regained some twinkle at last :)

I really hope so. Though I really think I need to start looking for a new home for them - BEFORE I get too attached to them :(

Hmm she really IS small. She has the length of a full grown dwarf, but has the same girth as Mocha :s

I'm wondering if Brie and Blue were dehydrated? Poor things :( They seem to be settling in well.

  14. hesedetang * (62 months ago | reply)

Dehydrated in their former cage? Maybe. They arrived in the middle of a very hot afternoon.

As for now, I have been feeding them water twice everyday. It takes up a lot of time seeing how much they drink, but that is the only time they react peacefully to me, and so I treasure it.

I have put up some notices looking for good homes for these two. I have no idea if anyone will want them or how long it will take for me to find someone good-hearted enough. But until then, I'll try my best to continue our daily time together :)

Do they bite? All my pearl hamsters bite. Why is that so?
