just experimenting with fonts and text as i'm thinking about watermarking. some naughty people have been using/distributing my images with no qualms. i'm gutted.

Nice use of text, Christine. The image is beautiful and the text really compliments the imagery. I've run into people illegally using my images from here which is why I water mark them all. It was a big battle with Flickr to get the other guys stream removed, but it was done. It's sad that we need to do this protect our work by marking them all up. But I think you get the classy way to do it, with nice watermarks that go with the work, rather than a huge logo or signature right through the middle of the image. Anyhow, I rant on... Sorry that you have to go through this too!

i just got in from walking the dogs and on the way home i took a shot really similar to this. yours is amazing. love the colours of all the lights. i bet it was upsetting when you found out someone was stealing your images. i think watermarking is the way to go.

this is wonderful chris.. sorry to hear your images are being used by others.. not nice!.. keep forgetting to add copyright to my exif, but guess if someone want to use them they will regardless.. agree adding a watermark might be the best option..

@beverly: hi b. how r u? i found out by chance. when looking under domain in stats, there was a link to someones blog. when clicking on this link, it was a real eye opener....my pic has been distributed probably hundreds of times..not to mention those who one doesn't know about.
@ray: yes...how annoying. glad u got that sorted out. i looked through that person's stream who was using your image. can't believe the cheek that they were using them as their own. the stream is still intact on flickr but he's used all his own images now. (i saw that through discussions on your lenscrack group....great reading..so insightful. great group btw with lots of amazing images.)
@shelley: r u sure it's us who r on the wrong side of the road?? hahaha!!! :-)

I love the bokeh and the feel to this... it's like the tired view of someone driving home after a long day of work :) It's not the triumph but the struggle

I understand how you feel about people stealing i have had it done to me as well. :( It seems to be a growing trend, people treat flickr like a photo buffet and just take and use without asking. Sorry this has happened to you too!

Love this Chris - I had the same view from our car when we came home from Christmas shopping yesterday. I should have taken my camera with me! I love the car light bokeh. I just don't understand why people think it's okay to steal images. I think the font here is lovely - just simple enough not to take over the image:-)
