Spanish Imperial Galleon 13
Captain Green Hair and Bonaparte present: The Spanish Imperial Galleon Nuestra Señora de la Concepción.
Constructed partly in the world famous Amsterdam shipyards of Captain Green Hair and partly in the shipyards of Bonaparte near Antwerp, we are proud to present this international project. We started planning the ship beginning of 2009 at which time we begun buying bricks. As we've used a lot of rare colors it took a bit of time and a many Bricklink orders. All sails and flags are made out of real canvas (no paper) and many meters of rope were consumed for the rigging.

Fantastic! Sveetness of sveetness. The rigging is awesome.

This is probably in my top 3 favorite LEGO ships ever built, easily. I don't find myself at EB as often as I'd like, so I'll comment here.
The two of you never cease to amaze me with your brilliant uses of pre-fab hulls... after sculpting one hull for one of the ships I've made in the past, I was convinced that sculpting it was the only true way; but this debunks that myth for sure! The gently sloping shape of the stern castle is spot on, the the colors are nothing less than spectacular.
The both of you have struck gold with this beauty!

Beautiful, I've been staring at this on Eurobricks for days now - lovely to see it on flickr too.

The sails are fantastic, and I love the checkered bands.

Thanks guys, it has been great to build this project together.
There will be more, though they might not use the prefab hulls........to be continued ;-)
