The Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen is directed toward art, culture and heritage around the former Zuiderzee, the present and future IJsselmeer. Through its activities, approach and co-operative ventures, the museum has acquired international allure and a wide public reach. Communities, crafts and water are the central features.

The museum consists of an open-air section in the form of a museum park, and an indoor area with a large number of exhibition spaces for permanent presentations and temporary exhibitions. In addition, the Museum organizes regular presentations at home and abroad.
