I have enjoyed "assemblage art" and sculpture for over thirty years. After building the Aether Spirit Containment Apparatus I got several comments that it looked like something out of a Jules Verne story. It was then that I went looking online for Jules Verne and discovered this thing called Steampunk. It amazed me that there was actually a name for the style of artwork that I had made. Whodathunk?

Also, a special thanks goes out to Lockwasher and Clayton Bailey (the Godfather's of robots and ray guns) for their inspiration.

The ray gun idea that these two chaps came up with is brilliant and I just had to give it a try.

As with all my art, it's not for sale. I just do it for the pure enjoyment of making something cool out of scraps and pieces.

My five-year-old boy, Nick, thinks that these ray guns are the coolest and he is the "only kid on the block" to have one!
